Late Summer Evening

Late Summer Evening 30"x24" Oil on Canvas 2016.

People often observe the subtle ways that couples show affection towards one another. One late summer evening shortly before the arrival of the Fall season, I observed my parents enjoying a conversation and the warm breeze as they sat on the front porch while the sun set.  I was struck by the warmth exhibited in the way that they talked to one another as well as the perfect backdrop of the natural daylight at the golden hour.  I challenged myself with capturing them in this painting where I conveyed their affinity surrounded by the warm colors as an homage to my parent's relationship and all couples.
